最近在看一些英语的军事用语，有几句话不太理解，还请各位老鸟们指教。“keep them surprised”是什么意思？还有一句听起来好像是“keep them pain down”,麻烦哪位高手给解释一下，感激不敬！

keep them surprised 意为突然袭击，偷袭
keep them pain down 意为压制。
