Red Hat公司曾经在早期赠送给林纳斯一百万份的股份，现在价值翻了60多倍，以前貌似曾经翻到上百倍，而且林纳斯现在在linux基金会工作，应该是有工资的。但是林纳斯所做的工作属于公益事业，是不盈利的，所以赚钱远不及比尔。
