不可以.这里的by 表示到了某个程度.

应该是后者. 可以理解为过了很长一段时间

可以.而且最好用he won the championship.因为It is said that .后面的从句只能用过去时态的.

是take lives

泛滥的大水.是有这种用法的.虽然说 water是不可数名词,但在这里waters表示大水,或洪水.
8.salt 和salty有什么区别？为什么是用salt water?
salt:作名词是盐;作形容词是咸的.

crowds. 表示人群
13.lunch的复数是加s还是es?
应该是lunches.一般来说,凡是以ch,sh结尾的名词.它的复数形式都是直接+es
